He further pointed out that the university had appointed Prof Cuthbert Kimambo a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Knowledge Exchange) to fill the vacant post following DVC, Prof Sylvia Temu appointment as Director of Higher Learning in the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
In his speech, the outgoing DVC (Academic), Prof Makenya Maboko, hailed the support got from his colleagues during his tenure in the office. "Whatever we achieved, we achieved as a team.
I am grateful for the great support from my colleagues," said the outgoing DVC.UDSM convocation President, Judge Joseph Warioba, that the two outgoing DVCs had made significant contribution to the university's development, saying they have helped to increase the admission rate.
"The two outgoing DVCs have made significant contribution to the university by improving its infrastructures. The improvement saw the increase of admission rate," he said. Judge Warioba noted further that despite the achievement, the duo had set the vision2050 of the university
